There are five learning outcomes for the personal and professional skills course. Students are required to demonstrate that they have met each one.

By the end of the course, students must show that they can:

  • Learning Objective 1 (LO1) - Identify their strengths and develop areas for growth.

  • LO2 - Demonstrate the ability to apply thinking processes to personal and professional situations.

  • LO3 - Recognize and be able to articulate the value of cultural understanding and appreciation for diversity.

  • LO4 - Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of communicating effectively and working collaboratively.

  • LO 5 - Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

It is up to the school to decide how these learning outcomes will be achieved and evidenced. However, most schools opt to ask their students to keep a portfolio as a way of recording their achievement of the learning outcomes.

Students have a great opportunity in PPS to select and present materials that reflect individual voice and showcase their unique talents. They might like to keep a portfolio on as a record of their goals, objectives, and evidence that they have met the learning outcomes.
