Some final words of reassurance

I want to finish by restating that this guide is a curation of techniques for engagement that I have used, picked up from colleagues, and seen on the Internet. It is an a-la-carte menu that you are free to pick and choose from, and I certainly don't believe that you need to try all of them. Instead, find strategies that work for you and for your students. If the very first thing you try from this guide has a noticeable positive impact on student engagement, then why change it? The less you have to do to improve engagement, the better!

Always keep things simple. Your strategies to improve student engagement should be small in number, but high in effectiveness.
