Christine holds an MEd in Mathematics and a PhD in Linguistics/Inquiry-Based Learning. Her research and work focus on learning in inquiry-based contexts, where she has developed expertise in designing structures to support improved learning. She is an author of the original International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and a PYP Programme Leader. Her most recent school-based role was as the primary school principal at the Vienna International School.
Christine founded to support schools, leaders, teachers, and students to ensure improved learning and increase student and teacher agency in an inquiry-based context. The Core & More approach uses a focus on 21st-century skills to address content and assessment overload, increasing student ownership of learning and allowing more time for inquiry in a truly transdisciplinary context.
She has taught primary and middle school students in US, Austrian and international schools as both a class and single-subject teacher and has been leading teachers in a variety of capacities (grade leader, curriculum leader for mathematics, workshop leader, and consultant) for over 30 years. Her work has been published in the International School magazine as well as the original Primary Inquirer Series and other publications. As a MiniPD coach and course designer, she connects with teachers and leaders to provide individualized, ongoing support that is grounded in the IB approaches to teaching.
Outside of her curriculum work, Christine enjoys yoga, golf, and walks with her family and rescue dog in the national park near where she lives near Vienna, Austria.
