# Meet the Author: Dawn Summerfield

I have worked in education for more than 28 years, in the American public schools and in the International school community. During that time I learned a great deal about how students and teachers handle the stress that comes with teaching and learning. I've seen teachers and students push themselves to the limit as they prepare for their end of term exams, apply to university and try to manage all the demands of being a student, and a teacher, and felt powerless to help. That sense of helplessness was the catalyst I needed to push me into a second masters degree in the area of Health & Wellness Education. Now, I work to share what I learned about developing and maintaining wellness protocols within the school community, as this has become a passion in which I believe deeply, and am committed to advancing.
