Deja is an experienced specialist teacher who has supported students with learning and wellbeing needs for over 17 years. She has taught primary, secondary and mature students in the UK and USA across a range of settings, and led provision and staff development during her varied career.
She has the National Award for SEND Coordination, and professional qualifications in law, specific learning needs and therapeutic childcare. Currently, Deja is the Learning Support, Wellbeing and Safeguarding Manager for Wolsey Hall Oxford Homeschooling College, and as such is responsible for the wellbeing and learning support needs of thousands of students around the world. Not only does she have a deep understanding of students with additional needs, but she is an experienced and knowledgeable mental health professional. She straddles the interesting intersection between learning and wellbeing and has recently completed a multi-modal psychotherapy diploma with the world-renowned Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust in London. She continues to seek understanding and knowledge in the support of the mental health needs of her students, and promotes the importance of positive mental health in her organisation and beyond.
