# Introduction

This guide is meant for IB DP coordinators (DPCs). It will likely be most helpful to coordinators in the first few years of service as DPC, but may also be helpful to veteran coordinators as a 'refresher' or to give you a new idea. The guide breaks down the many duties of a DPC into manageable monthly chunks. Each month is further divided into different sections that reflect the various types of duties of the DPC.

Note that this guide is written for May exam session schools, but can easily be adapted for the November exam session.
{% endhint %}

As with any guide, the organization and timing is dependent on context, and coordinators may need to make adjustments based on elements such as the size of the DP programme, the school's timeline and the amount of time a DPC has available to complete these tasks. Therefore this provides guidelines that you are free to adapt.

Balance is important for us too!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.fariaedu.com/monthly-ib-diploma-programme-coordinator-guide/introduction.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
