At this point in the planning process, teachers may begin to consider the resources needed to support the planned learning experiences. They may also consider possibilities and additional resources that could enhance and extend student learning throughout the inquiry.
Examples of commonly used resources include: books, audio-visual files, realia, guest speakers, field trips, etc. It can be beneficial to consider people, places, technologies, learning spaces and items that may be available to the learning community. For documentation purposes, include details such as authors, links, item locations and/or contact information to support access to these resources in future iterations of the unit of inquiry.
Consider sharing the related concepts that will be uncovered throughout the school year with parents and community members while inviting them to share their knowledge, expertise and passion with learners. This can be a way to discover new resources and further develop the relationship and connection between school, home and the greater community.
