# Personal SEL Reflection

CASEL’s [Personal SEL Reflection](https://schoolguide.casel.org/resource/personal-sel-reflection/) tool is designed for use by your school’s staff, including teachers, principals, administrative staff and other adults in your school community. It provides a series of statements broken into the five competencies, and then further into categories such as “emotional self-awareness”, “identity and self-knowledge” and “growth mindset and purpose”. &#x20;

The aim is for the person using the tool to select how strongly they agree or disagree with each statement. After going through each of the statements, they are encouraged to identify patterns in their responses that can highlight both their own strengths and areas for further development and action.

This would be a good activity and discussion starter at a staff meeting.<br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.fariaedu.com/social-and-emotional-learning-a-w-s-approach/assessing-sel-at-your-school/personal-sel-reflection.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
