Effective study techniques in Psychology

Stephen Chew, a psychology professor from Samford University, presents a series of short lectures on study techniques. These videos are aimed at university students, but the IB Psychology course is a university-level class, and the suggestions made are hugely relevant to your own study habits and goals. As you watch the series pay special attention to the discussion of multi-tasking (it doesn’t work) and learning styles (there is no evidence they exist). Professor Chew informs his presentation with psychological knowledge about motivation, learning and memory. For example, he explains out powerful beliefs can impact academic success and he uses levels of processing to advise strategies for retaining knowledge about concepts and theories.
